Current Ride or Die Makeup Products - Summer Time

 Hi friends,

It's been a while since I've blogged about makeup and I miss it! With quarantine, I've really learned what products from my huge makeup collection I can't live without. Also, in the summer I prefer lighter coverage (let some of those freckles and imperfections shine through). I also love me some cream products though as my skin gets more mature, I'm moving towards them all year round That said, there are a few powders and powder products that make my heart happy.  So below are my top products in every category. 

Primer

Supergoop Glowscreen Sunscreen - I'm obsessed with this because not only does it hydrate, give you a beautiful glow and lay well under makeup, but it has an SPF of 40, which is essential for me. Gotta protect that skin!

Hourglass Caution - Still my ride or die. It's the only mascara that doesn't transfer on me and it does such a great job of lengthening and separating. It's the not the most volumizing tbh, but it does the job.

Highlight

As I've grown older, I like a much more subtle highlight. 

1. Hourglass Strobe Lighting Palette - Gives such a nice glow. You can definitely build it up to make it more blinding, but it never looks crazy or glittery, it's that glow from within type of look

My Favorite Nude Lipsticks

Hello fellow nude lip lovers. I figured after my blog about Jaclyn Hill and Lipstickgate, I'd follow up with nude lipsticks that are actually amazing. My skin tone is pretty fair, so the majority of my picks are best suited for light skin tones (sorry!) in terms of shades, but I will be talking about my all time favorite formulas in general so hopefully you can find your perfect nude. I'd also highly recommend this video and Alissa Ashley's channel.She is a fantastic beauty guru and has excellent recommendations for medium to deep skin tones.

I know these are insanely expensive, but they have changed my lip liner game in the sense that I used to not wear lip liner's and now I can't live without these.  They are creamy, long wearing, long lasting and these colors!! Between the two of them, they will really work with anything.

I feel like this nude pink lipstick has become iconic and is my go to. Charlotte's matte revolution formula is fantastic because it's comfortable even on my dry ass chappy lips. You really can't go wrong with this perfect gem.

I love this cool light pinky beige for when I'm doing a more cool toned look. I also am obsessed with the formula, silky-satin lip color infused with the next generation of hyaluronic acid to keep my lips hydrated. Yes, I stole that from the Sephora description because they just said it so well.

Colourpop Luxe Lipstick
 Appy & Butter

What did we do without Colourpop? They make affordable products that are truly incredible and their luxe lipsticks are no exception. The creme lux are my personal favorite formula. Appy is described as a warm pinky beige. I also love Butter, a pale peachy nude. They have an amazing selection of colors and finishes so if you can't find your shade, it's not them - it's you.

 Put on your favorite flannel and pair it with this matte mid-toned red brown. Between that description and the fact that it is actually named "Grunge" do I even need to say more? Although this isn't nude on me, it could definitely be a nude option on deeper skin tones.

This is a shimmering pearl and while not nude per se, it is just magical on top of a nude lipstick or liner. I love all three of Fenty's glosses and you can't go wrong with any or all of them, but this is the most special and unique if ya ask me.

Faux Real

Described as a deep beige with a pearlescent sheen. First of all, Pat McGrath can do no wrong and her lipsticks, lip liners and lip glosses are perfection. I especially love this color because on me it reminds me of a grungy 90s lip gloss (if there was such a thing) but it also works on deeper skin tones!! It's so beautiful.

Apricot dream is right! I am obsessed with this sheer shimmering peach. It's shiny and juicy without being sticky. Simply stunning! I love to pair it on top of Ofra's liquid lipstick in Manila (see below).

Lip Laquer

Nuit & Jouer

I had to give this it's own category because it's a unicorn of a product. It has the sheen and comfort of a lip gloss, but the staying power of a lipstain. While I love many of the shades, 202 Nuit & Jour is a gorgeous light pinky beige. I'm in love with this color and this formula! 

Liquid Lipstick

Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint
Unbuttoned

Fenty makes my favorite liquid lipstick formula - one that my parched lips can tolerate. This peachy nude is comfortable, long lasting and lovely. It does transfer (which is probably why I can wear it since it's not tooooo matte), but I don't mind because it's awesome sauce.

Ofra  Cosmetics
Manila

Ofra also has a wonderful and comfortable liquid lipstick formula. Manila is the ultimate nude with a mousey formula that lasts long, but doesn't give me butthole lips. No one wants butthole lips.

2019 UPDATED Ride or Die Makeup and Skincare

Looking back at my very first blog post of my ride or die products, it's crazy to see how much has changed in a year. I'm fickle, but makeup just keeps coming out and it keeps getting better. I'm definitely very happy that the trends have shifted from full coverage, baking and liquid lipsticks to a more natural coverage, lip glosses and balms, dewy skin and cool toned eyeshadows!

I've definitely found some truly amazing products that I can't imagine living without. Since my friends and family are always asking, I figured I'd give some updates. I think the most game changing products have been my skincare, the hourglass mascara and the queen Pat Mcgrath with her lip liners and eyeshadows. I am also really happy with my base (primer, foundation and powder), but that's so personal. I have dry skin, I like a medium coverage and either satin or dewy finish. Also, this has been the year of concealers!! Tarte Shape tape move over...you've got some major competition and you've been replaced in my heart. Thank you, next.

Vera Decoris
This brand is amazing. All of the products come from in and around Israel's dead sea.  It's all clean, organic, vegan and cruelty free. You get luxorious and amazing skincare products and it's significantly less than say...drunk elephant. My faves are the serum and the Boto V! Definitely check out this brand.

Drunk Elephant - They have so many amazing products from their polypeptide cream, to their baby facial to basically everything. The Di Bronze is the one thing I can't live without. It gives me an all over bronzed glow and has skin and includes many skincare benefits. I mix this into my moisturizer and slather all over the face.

Tatcha Silk Canvas - Again, I know this is expensive but a little bit goes a long way so it will last forever. They also have a mini now, which is awesome. This smooths my skin and makes my makeup last all day.

YSL All in One Glow

This is my everyday go to. It has a medium coverage, which is amazing for a tinted moisturizer. It makes me skin look so radiant, it lasts. I also love mixing into my foundation to add a bit of dew.

Dior Forever OR Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude
Honestly I love them both and think they look similar on my skin. They both are very smoothing, you can get a really nice medium coverage, they have kind of a satin matte finish, not drying. I hate the packaging on Estee Lauder because it's so messy BUT it is cheaper than the dior soo... but you can't go wrong, they are both beautiful.

Jouer Full Coverage
This is what I wear on special occasions when I do want full coverage, no mess makeup. A little goes a long way. I definitely feel this on my skin more so than the others, but it doesn't feel cakey or dry and looks flawless.

Concealer

*Note: I never thought a concealer could beat my Tarte Shape tape, but here were are. I love both of these concealers so much. They both give great coverage and blend out easily, but are less cakey and more hydrating than shape tape.

Highlight

This is my favorite highlight ever. I wear it 99.9 percent of the time. It gives you that wet glow from within look, but can definitely be built up for a more blinding affect. It never gives me that weird stripe, it's just so beautiful.

Hourglass Caution Mascara - This is the BEST. MASCARA. EVER. It gives me a lot of length and some volume, it's very black but the best part - it does not transfer. I always had those little black dots under my eyes or on my lid no matter what I did, but not with this miracle worker. If you get one thing on this list, let it be this.And also the packaging though.

Lips

Fenty Stunna Lip Paints
This is literally the ONLY liquid lipstick I will wear. The applicator first of all is amazing and basically error proof. These do not dry down fully for me, which is probably why I like them because they don't feel completely matte. They wear off nicely, they do last long and they are just amazing. Of course Rihanna killed the packaging, but she kills everything she does basically. Of course I love the mauve and nude shades, but if you are looking for the perfect red...this one.

These are the best glosses ever in life. They smell like your childhood, they are so juicy and beautiful without being sticky and annoying. You need all three shades. There, I said it.

 These are pricey but....they are the best lip liners in the entire world. They are creamy and glide on and stay on all day. I didn't need to wear lip liner every day until I found these. Lancome L'absalu laquor

This is like a unicorn of a product. It's magical, i don't understand how it works, but I'm not going to question it. This has the staying power of a liquid lipstick, it looks like a gloss and it feels comfortable. Allie Glines on Youtube taught me how to put it on. Put on one layer and don't press your lips together, just wait a minute. Then add another layer and do the same thing. Add a third if you so desire and then just let the magic happen and enjoy having beautiful glossy lips for hours at a time.
